MYTH

I won’t get the support I need.

FACT

Specsavers has a business support structure built into our model. We work hand-in-hand with our audiology joint venture partners to provide the best levels of technical and professional support, product range, marketing, remuneration, equipment and more. And that’s not to mention the support of the in-store optical team drumming up business via free hearing screenings for all over-40s.

MYTH

For the product range to be affordable, it must be limited or poor quality.

FACT

We stock great products at hard-to-believe prices. Our own-branded ‘advance’ product range is manufactured by the household names of our industry. We also supply a full range of branded products from Phonak, GN Resound and Signia.

Because Specsavers operates in four countries, we can access some of the lowest wholesale prices available anywhere in the world.

MYTH

As a partner I won’t make any money.

FACT

We pay a market-rate salary + super package to all our franchise partners, guaranteed. Audiologists and audiometrists are paid a base salary of $100,000 and $90,000 respectively. This is in addition to the profits generated by your business. And of course, as a business owner, you’re building the value of your shares, which you can sell when it is time to retire from the business.

MYTH

Specsavers is purely a volume business model.

FACT

Our model aims to look after the needs of as many people as possible, every day. We never compromise on time with clients. Appointments are set to provide one hour for assessments and 45-minutes for fittings.

MYTH

I’ll have to fork out a significant amount of my own funds if I want to start my own business with Specsavers Audiology.

FACT

The level of investment to get your Specsavers Audiology business started is much lower than you think. A loan of just $10,000 is required to get started at the outset and is paid back to you once cashflow allows.
